Kindergarten Programs at
CHEERIOKIDS Heidelberg
General
Kindergarten Classes are State Subsidised for four (4) years old children and are taught by fully QUALIFIED EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER (Kinder Teacher) and our team member/s assisting our ECT.
We have a Kindergarten Teacher five (5) days a week and Kindergarten Education is delivered to ALL CHILDREN attending our centre in our Kinder Room.
There is NO EXTRA cost for parents/children who are attending our centre. In other words, we are providing FREE KINDERGARTEN Education for all of our children.
We believe children learn best through play based and concrete experiences. Our Kindergarten Teacher structure a planned program for both the indoor and outdoor play areas with educational activities. Our activities are wide-ranging and aim to challenge and stimulate the children, considering their current level of development.
Our teacher plan for each individual child and for the whole group. The plan includes social and emotional development, language and communication, physical development (large and small muscles and coordination), cognitive development and literacy and numeracy.
All educational programs are updated regularlydaily observations are taken of the children's development and will be presented to families at the end of the year in a portfolio. These portfolios will be on display in the room at all times. We encourage families to look at these on a regular basis, discuss with your child and make comments or suggestions in relation to your child and their progress.
Children turning four years old before April 30th of the enrolment year (2010) are eligible for a State Subsidy. This State Subsidy helps Long Day Care Centres in the employment of a QUALIFIED Early Childhood Teacher.
Long Day Care (LDC) Kinder Program
Kindergarten Programs in LDCs are governed by the same rules and regulations as in all other Funded Kinder Programs run in dedicated Kindergartens, Council Kindergartens etc.
In other words, there is a Qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is running the Kinder Program in all funded LDCs.
There is absolutely NO DIFFERENCE in terms of QUALITY of the Kinder Programs run in Long Day Care Centres.
Main advantage of the Kinder Program run in LDCs is that, as parents, you do not have to bring in your child in the morning (an example: 9:00 or 9:30am) and pick them up in the afternoon (an example: 12:30pm or 2:30pm or 3:00pm).
This routine is impossible to keep up by the working parents unless they are getting help from Grand Parents and/or other relatives.
Working Parents enrolled in Kinder Programs run in LDCs will have a peace of mind that their children are not missing out in Early Childhood Education / Kindergarten Education as the Kinder Program is integrated in the daily routine of the centre.
